Dye Sublimation

Heat allows the design dyes to enter the fibers of a compatible textile. The design becomes part of the textile surface rather than forming a separate printed layer. On a rigid item specially prepared for sublimation, the dye is received by a compatible coating.

The result

Full-color artwork with gradients while retaining the feel of the compatible textile. On a compatible rigid surface, its color and finish influence the result.

When to choose it

For extensive patterns and detailed artwork on textiles designed for the process, including fabrics, blankets and accessories. It also suits photographs and full-color artwork on rigid items specially prepared for sublimation.

Rigid surfaces prepared for sublimation

On rigid substrates designed for this process, heat transfers the dyes into a compatible polymer coating. Bare ceramic or metal is not enough: the surface must be prepared for sublimation.

Documented examples include ceramic mugs, aluminum photo panels and glossy cardboard puzzles. The process must be confirmed for the exact product: sharing the same base material does not make every item compatible.

Variants to understand

Material compatibility and printable coverage must be confirmed on the product page. This process is not interchangeable with every textile transfer.

Actual methods, colors, shapes and sizes depend on the product. Consult its page for available options and applicable quantities.
